Italian Wedding Lasagna

To start, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into small meatballs.
In a large skillet, brown the meatballs and sausage over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese and a cup of the tomato sauce.
To assemble the lasagna, spread a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture, meatballs, sausage, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers until all of the ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
