To make this dish, you will need the following ingredients per serving:
- 1 pound of beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1/2 cup of pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
To start, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the paprika, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper and cook for another minute.
Add the beef broth, pomegranate juice, and honey to the pot and stir to combine. Add the brisket to the pot and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the oven.
Bake the brisket for 3-4 hours, or until it is tender and falling apart. Remove the pot from the oven and let the brisket rest for 10-15 minutes.
To serve, slice the brisket against the grain and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
This Israeli-Inspired Brisket is a perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors. The pomegranate juice and honey add a touch of sweetness, while the spices give it a warm and earthy flavor. The brisket is tender and juicy, and the sauce is rich and flavorful.
