Jelly-Filled French Toast Roll-Ups
Jelly-Filled French Toast Roll-Ups are a delicious and easy breakfast dish that will satisfy your sweet tooth. These roll-ups are made with soft and fluffy bread, filled with your favorite jelly, and coated in a cinnamon-sugar mixture. This dish is perfect for a lazy weekend brunch or a quick weekday breakfast.
To make four servings of Jelly-Filled French Toast Roll-Ups, you will need:
- 8 slices of white bread
- 4 tablespoons of your favorite jelly
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
To start, cut the crusts off of the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin. Spread one tablespoon of jelly onto each slice of bread and roll them up tightly. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. In another shallow dish, mix together the granulated sugar and more ground cinnamon.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, making sure to coat it evenly. Place the roll-ups in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
The Jelly-Filled French Toast Roll-Ups should be crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. The combination of the sweet jelly and the cinnamon-sugar coating makes for a delicious and indulgent breakfast treat. Serve with a side of fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special touch.
