Cranberry Bagels

Cranberry Bagels - A Delicious Twist on a Classic Breakfast Favorite
Cranberry bagels are a perfect way to start your day with a burst of flavor. These bagels are made with a combination of all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, dried cranberries, and a few other ingredients that make them a healthy and delicious breakfast option.

Ingredients (per serving):

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Cooking Tips:

- Make sure to use warm water to activate the yeast. If the water is too hot, it can kill the yeast, and if it's too cold, the yeast won't activate.
- Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes to develop the gluten and create a chewy texture.
- Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place for at least an hour to ensure that the bagels are light and fluffy.
Cooking Process:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, dried cranberries, salt, sugar, and active dry yeast.
2. Add the warm water and vegetable oil to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour.
5. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
6. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a bagel shape.
7. Place the bagels on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Appearance and Taste:
Cranberry bagels are a beautiful golden brown color with flecks of dried cranberries throughout. They have a chewy texture and a slightly sweet taste that is perfectly balanced with the tartness of the cranberries. These bagels are perfect for toasting and spreading with cream cheese or butter.
