Spinach and Artichoke Empanadas
Spinach and Artichoke Empanadas are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that will impress your guests. These empanadas are filled with a creamy spinach and artichoke mixture that is both savory and satisfying.
To make these empanadas, you will need the following ingredients per serving:
- 1/2 cup chopped spinach
- 1/4 cup chopped artichoke hearts
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
To start, preheat your oven to 400°F. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Next, roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into 4 equal squares. Spoon the spinach and artichoke mixture onto one half of each square, leaving a small border around the edges. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and use a fork to crimp the edges closed.
Brush the empanadas with the beaten egg and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
When finished, the Spinach and Artichoke Empanadas will have a beautiful golden brown color and a flaky, buttery texture. The filling will be creamy and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spinach and artichoke flavors.
These empanadas are perfect for any occasion and can be served as an appetizer or a light meal. They are a great way to add some variety to your menu and impress your guests with your culinary skills.
