Pecan Flan Recipe: A Delicious Dessert for Any Occasion
Looking for a dessert that's both sweet and nutty? Try making a Pecan Flan! This classic dessert is a perfect combination of creamy custard and crunchy pecans, making it a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients (serves 6-8):

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Cooking Tips:

- Use a non-stick flan pan or a 9-inch cake pan for best results.
- Make sure to let the flan cool completely before serving.
- To make the flan extra creamy, use whole milk instead of evaporated milk.
Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Cook until the sugar dissolves and turns golden brown, stirring occasionally.
3. Pour the caramelized sugar into the flan pan, tilting it to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside.
4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
5. Stir in the chopped pecans.
6. Pour the mixture into the flan pan.
7. Place the flan pan in a larger baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan pan.
8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Remove the flan pan from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature.
10. Once cooled, refrigerate the flan for at least 2 hours or overnight.
11. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it from the pan. Invert the flan onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel sauce to drizzle over the top.
Appearance and Taste:
This Pecan Flan is a beautiful golden brown color with a smooth and creamy texture. The caramel sauce adds a sweet and slightly bitter flavor that perfectly complements the nutty taste of the pecans. The flan is rich and decadent, making it a perfect dessert for any occasion.
