Cheeseburger Empanadas
Cheeseburger Empanadas are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the convenience of an empanada. This dish is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, and is sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike.
To make Cheeseburger Empanadas, you will need the following ingredients per serving:
- 1/4 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced tomato
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 empanada wrapper
- 1 egg, beaten
To start, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the onion and tomato, and cook until the vegetables are soft. Drain any excess fat from the skillet, and then add the shredded cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the ingredients are well combined.
Next, lay out the empanada wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon the cheeseburger mixture onto one half of the wrapper, leaving a small border around the edge. Fold the other half of the wrapper over the filling, and use a fork to crimp the edges together. Brush the beaten egg over the top of the empanada, and then place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the Cheeseburger Empanadas for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy. Serve hot, garnished with additional ketchup and mustard if desired.
These Cheeseburger Empanadas are the perfect combination of savory beef, tangy ketchup and mustard, and melty cheddar cheese, all wrapped up in a crispy, flaky crust. They are a great appetizer or main dish, and are sure to be a crowd-pleaser at any gathering.
