Char Siu BBQ Tofu Skewers

Ingredients:

- 1 block of firm tofu
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of minced ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon of Chinese five-spice powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup of chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
- 8 bamboo skewers


Instructions:

1. Drain the tofu and cut it into 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a large bowl.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes.
3. Pour the marinade over the tofu and toss to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
5. Thread the tofu cubes onto the bamboo skewers, alternating with scallions.
6. Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tofu is lightly charred and heated through.
7. Serve the skewers with a sprinkle of cilantro and a drizzle of the remaining marinade.
