- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, butter, and sugar. Use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix the ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Add the egg yolk and ice water to the mixture and stir until the dough comes together.
4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
5. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
6. Increase the heat to high and cook the mixture, without stirring, until it turns a deep amber color.
7. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the heavy cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
8. Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the crust and pour the caramel sauce over them.
9. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top of the tart.
10. Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
11. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
