Cantonese-style Lobster
Cantonese-style Lobster is a delicious seafood dish that is sure to impress your guests. This dish is a perfect combination of succulent lobster meat and flavorful Cantonese-style sauce. Ingredients:
- 2 lobsters (about 1 1/2 pounds each)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 4 scallions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup Shaoxing wine
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Rinse the lobsters under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
3. Use a sharp knife to cut the lobsters in half lengthwise. Remove the claws and set them aside.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ginger and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
5. Add the scallions and cook for another minute.
6. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine.
7. Place the lobster halves in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them.
8. Bake the lobsters for 20-25 minutes, until the meat is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
9. While the lobsters are baking, cook the claws in a pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes, until they are cooked through.
10. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
11. Remove the lobsters from the oven and transfer them to a serving platter. Arrange the claws around the lobsters.
12. Pour the sauce from the baking dish into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
13. Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan and whisk until the sauce thickens.
14. Pour the sauce over the lobsters and serve immediately.
