- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp water
- Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and butter. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and the mixture has thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets into 10-inch squares. Cut each square into 4 smaller squares.
4. Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture onto the center of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
5. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Brush the egg wash over the turnovers.
6. Place the turnovers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
7. Let the turnovers cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
