Almond Macaroons are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that will satisfy your sweet tooth. These delicate cookies are made with almond flour, egg whites, and sugar, and are perfect for any occasion. In this recipe, we will show you how to make Almond Macaroons that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until they are frothy. Add the cream of tartar and salt, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
4. Gently fold the egg whites into the almond flour mixture, being careful not to overmix. Add the almond extract and food coloring (if using) and mix until well combined.
5. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.
6. Tap the baking sheet on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles. Let the cookies sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to form a skin.
7. Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and set. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet before removing them.
8. Serve the Almond Macaroons as a sweet treat or as a dessert with a cup of coffee or tea.
