Ingredients:

- 4 cups of water

For the Farofa:

- 1 cup of cassava flour
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt to taste
Instructions:

1. Soak the black beans overnight in water.
2. In a large pot, cook the pork shoulder, beef brisket, smoked sausage, and bacon until browned on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
3. In the same pot, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the bay leaves, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
4. Add the soaked black beans to the pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the beans are tender.
5. While the beans are cooking, prepare the rice. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, bring the water to a boil, then add the rice and salt. Cover and let simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
6. To make the farofa, melt the butter in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the cassava flour and salt, and stir until the flour is toasted and golden brown.
7. Once the beans are tender, add the cooked meats back to the pot and let simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
8. Serve the feijoada with the rice and farofa on the side.
